Giving class feedback to the regular teacher of a class is very important. Generally the work will be left for the class when their regular teacher is absent. Upon their return the teacher will need to know what happened while they were absent. This feedback will assist the teacher to follow on with the learning that has occurred while you were taking the class.
If you feel an incident has occurred in the classroom that should be followed up, then your direct school supervisor should be notified (normally the daily organiser). YTA must be notified if the nature of the incident is serious. Please note: Punishments for issues in the classroom will be decided by the relevant teacher/leader within the school. CRTs should not issue punishments unless verified with the classroom teacher or relevant School Co-ordinator or Daily Organiser.
With most of the emphasis of CRT placements focusing on classroom management, it is sometimes easy to forget to give detailed feedback to the regular teacher of the class.
As a CRT you must give normal feedback to the regular teacher of the class as required by the school.
The feedback should include the following –
Attendance records
How the students performed academically during the lesson
A list of any students who did not complete the required tasks
A detailed account of any behavioural issues with student names attached
Any other incident of a serious nature Please contact us if you have any issues regarding feedback or incidents in the classroom.
Each school will have their own system for giving feedback but generally it will be an online platform.
If you have any questions regarding feedback please get in touch with us.
